I Come from Des Moines

Bill Bryson é possivelmente um dos meus autores favoritos. No género de literatura de viagens, é sem dúvida o meu número um. É também autor de livros de linguística Inglesa e de temas científicos.

Ler os seu livros é ter a certeza de momentos hilariantes, relatos de viagens extraordinárias por sítios (des)conhecidos. Da Europa à África, passando pela Austrália e, logicamente, pelos Estados Unidos de onde é originário. Histórias de um viajante atento e inteligente. Informações (ir)relevantes que nos surpreendem.

Lembrei-me dele porque hoje estive a ler uns parágrafos do seu Down Under (em Português Na Terra dos Cangurus) aos meus alunos que simplesmente amaram .
